He entered with a whisper and went out like a shadow. We almost forgot to notice that he was gone, yet he made such a mark on many that there was no way he could be forgotten. It was a long time before he held a belt; even longer before he could be regarded as a true champion. Though betrayed at the hands of Stephen Greer, he was one of the few who called themselves a Misfit. It is a title as well as the name of a stable for the men that held it - most of them were to shape the destiny of the NeWA for the future.
His list of friends and students include some of the greatest the NeWA has known - Adam Knight, Christian Light, Hyuk Suh Kim. And only a small handful of the NeWA champions have never faced him in the ring. To beat him was a sign of good things to come; to lose was no disgrace.
There were definitely stronger, faster, more technically sound wrestlers in the federation. Few were as smart; fewer were more patient, both inside and outside the ring. To face him in the ring was to face two opponents - the World's Original and the man in the mirror. He had a way of making an opponent look at himself, of making a person search out his inner demons and walk to the ring a little unsure of what mattered, mostly because the person that Boog most dealt with was himself; and his only real defeat in the NeWA would be when he lost that internal battle.
As champion, he was the worst the NeWA ever had. His title reign was less than a month long, and he had only two real title defenses, one of which he lost. To many, winning the World Title is the greatest accomplishment of their careers; for The World's Original Boog-man, it was his greatest downfall. It was not that he did not deserve the title - ask anyone in the NeWA and they would tell you that he should have been champ - but it was the manner in which it was obtained. Pinning Mike Bell after a sneak attack by Adam Riggs would come naturally to most wrestlers...yet it did not to him. With the protests of the fans ringing in his ears, he took the belt and, for a time, sold his soul.
It would be some time before he regained his respect. That would come with the emergence of two men...evils in the NeWA that would run rampant in their ways unless checked. Evils in the form of Widowmaker and Black Zack Andrews.
The question would arise whether or not Boog lost to them too often to defeat them; however, each time they believed him defeated, he would return to face them. Their victory over him would merely be in the ring; his would be outside of it. He could be beaten, but he could not be defeated again.
He was the worst champion the NeWA ever had. Maybe he was the greatest hero.
Byron Tanis says: The Boog-man's promos were REALLY short, is how I'll always remember him. Oh, and I basically beat him like every damn time I faced him, which was like every week back when he and Vincent were having a love affair backstage. But yeah, he was okay. Pretty tough for a Catholic or whatever he is.

"On the surface, your typical (if exceptional) arrogant, self-serving uber-heel. Beneath it, however, was a man in conflict with himself. A man with a conscience, a real breathing appreciation of the human condition. A man who worked with troubled youths when the cameras weren't on. He was, in short, an amazing human bei -- hmm.
Nah, who am I kidding, Tanis was your typical arrogant, self-serving heel. He was just better at it than everyone else.
There were different phases, of course.
Early on (and we're talking like . . 1998 here. The years, they have passed. Sigh.), it was the whole sunglasses, leather jacket thing. And of course there was the stable (it was cool at the time, believe me). They were called the Nighthawks and Tanis was the Nighthawk and he was the champion of his region and it was all very cool and yes moving on.
The Nighthawks evolved from badassidy into more of a comedy thing. They made fun of people, and there were great wrestlers in it, many of whom I'm sure made into this very Hall of Fame deal. Tanis was still the ringleader, though, pulling the strings and calling the shots. It was a glorious time. Grocery carts were filled with titles, ICQ chats were held nightly, and jobbers were constantly and hilariously mocked. Things were good.
The Beatles broke up and the Nighthawks did too. He killed this Venom guy by accident in a match and it fucked him up and I'd rather not talk about it it's too painful. But that triggered the following events so that's why I brought it up: Tanis betrayed the Nighthawks and won the WORLD TITLE. He stopped being funny and called himself the Lord of the Ring. He then talked about being chosen for greatness and fate and shit like that. It really gets under people's skin, though, it's lovely.
Aaaaanyway, Tanis held the World title for awhile and beat some big wigs before he lost to uhhhhhh I think it was either Dane or Besolve. One of those two. After that, he disappeared for a year.
He came back to steal a million dollars from Outkast. He was around making trouble for another month or two, but when he was defeated in the second round of the Lou Thesz tournament by ohhhhh man somebody VERY mediocre that I can't even recall, his career effectively came to a close. And that was like two years ago.
In the end, everyone had fun and a good time was had by all!"
The Boog-Man says: "What a jackass....And what magnificence. He was easy to both hate and respect at the same time. One of the smarter guys to ever hold the belt, and one of the few to care hardly at all whether or not they held it at all. The belt changes some people - it didn't him. He was the same with or without it."
GCP says: I guess I'll say it like this. E-wrestling is a hella fun game, maybe a little too much fun. It can be a consuming thing, and my guess is it was that for every player that made it into this Hall of Fame deal. It was for me, especially when I had my hand in everything. But it's a good thing, if done in moderation. I didn't think so for a long time, but it is. It's a fun game that can really help you learn to write if you're so inclined. So that's the first thing, don't let this shit take over. Put everything else first.
As far as I go, I will say it's nice to be recognized as one of the better players. I did put a lot of time and thought into these characters in particular, so it does make me feel somewhat warm and mostly fuzzy that they're all bronzed up here. Thanks.

Byron Tanis says: Oooooh boy. Well, I mean, I made his career. It's a fucking joke this guy made it in. Let's face it, he couldn't wrestle his way out of Mr. Sinsation hammerlock. I mean, MKT Jon used one of his promos for a short, guys! Honestly! This is a travesty of justice, a crime against the real Hall of Famers, like Kristian Chaos and Caesar Naissance and Bo Justice. It's making me physically ill now, look at this. I'm sick here.

The WidowMaker

First NeWA title reign: 05/22/2000 (World Title)
Accomplishments
World Heavyweight Championship
North American Heavyweight Championship
2002 King of the Death Match Tournament Winner
"As young Native boys Venom and WidowMaker were forced to watch as "rednecks" raped their mother and killed their father. Their mother later died in hospital from complications due to the attack. This event set the stage for the course of their life. While in his early teens, WidowMaker encountered one of the "Rednecks" who assaulted and killed his parents. He followed him to a local bar and found that he was with the others. A short encounter transpired and the bar was lost in an explosion. The rednecks were killed and WM was taken to hospital. His face forever to be scared.
It was during his stay in hospital that Venom returned. Upon seeing his brothers face he renamed him "Carnage" and together they set out on their quest. After winning the NeWA world title he began to create a cult in his brother's name, however that was eventually foiled by Gaye Pope, Darrius Elita and their friends."
The Boog-Man says: "If evil in the NeWA had a pure form, then its name is Widowmaker. He may have been the greatest danger we ever knew, and the only thing that held him back was his failures to become the one person worse than he was - his brother, inhabited by the demon Venom."
McQ says: Anyone who knows my writing style will tell you that I have a dark sense of humor. However it wasn’t until Venom’s death that I was truly able to explore that in my RP’s. I never thought WM would become as popular as he did. I am very happy that you guys enjoyed reading him. Thanks to Greg, Boaz, Brian P, Joey, Ryan and the other talented RP’ers who I got to work with. It wouldn’t have been any fun without you.

Benoit Dreygon
Inducted 2003
First NeWA title reign: 05/01/2001 (CW Title)
Accomplishments
World Cruiserweight Championship
Tag Team Champion (The Advocates)
Ray Masters says: Benoit Dreygon? Probably one of the most tenacious men I have ever faced. Thank God he isn't still around, because he would probably be a champion somewhere and making other people look bad with his focus on the sport. Some people say that my first win over him was a fluke, and looking back at it, they might have been right. However, I knew I had him when we went into Thesz. Or at least I hoped I did.
Some people say that he was just like a shooting star. He made a big splash, and then burnt out quickly. However, I think that he could still come back and compete with the top people in the NWA today. That is how good he was.
Darnell Jenkins
Inducted 2003
First NeWA title reign: 09/12/1999 (TV Title)
Accomplishments
World Cruiserweight Championship
World Television Title
1999 Super J Tournament Winner
Ray Masters says: Darnell Jenkins had a lot of skill. He had speed, ability, and agility on his side. When he stepped into the ring, you knew that you were in for a fight. Some people say that he was conceited, and they may be right. However he is remembered, he was one of the better guys in the old NeWA. It is a matter of contention that he could fit into today's NeWA though, because the competition has stepped it up more than a notch. Let's just let his legacy live on when compared to the men he fought.
Hyuk Suh Kim

HSK was different in that he really was the first character in the NeWA that didn't drone on about his match for six paragraphs and then fade out. There was always some grandiose story behind him and even if the stories were sometimes hackneyed and, more often, cliche (ooh, Hyuk had an abusive father and now must face him ONE LAST TIME), it was still unique. It made him stand out, I suppose you could say.
The other wall that HSK managed to break down (and you kids out there aren't gonna believe this, but it's true) was this stigma on cruiserweights. Don Owens was the big cheese back in those days and he never wanted a wrestler under 225 pounds to catch a push to the top of the card. See, that's why Hyuk built up that crazy winning streak most people remember him by. He only fought cruiserweights. He must've beaten Juvi juice like 10 times.
Anyway, despite Boaz's claims, HSK never won the World Title. He was to challenge for it in his last match in the NeWA, but was injured backstage by Byron Tanis and the Nighthawks. He left the alliance that night.
HSK was around from late '98, most of '99, and into January of 2000 and then poof, he was shipped off to the NWC. He returned EVER so briefly (if you blinked you missed it) for the IWA's last hurrah in '02, but that's it. He was in, and then he was out. But he made a dent, which is nice.
The Boog-Man says: "It was a pure wonder watching him in the ring, even if you were his opponent. He knew where it hurt, and he hurt it as often as he could."
GCP says: I guess I'll say it like this. E-wrestling is a hella fun game, maybe a little too much fun. It can be a consuming thing, and my guess is it was that for every player that made it into this Hall of Fame deal. It was for me, especially when I had my hand in everything. Ray got his start in the NeWA after he was granted a contract with Mike Vincent's IWA in late 1998. Ray had a couple of matches there, and then decided that the crowds were not warming up to him, so he moved to the IWF, which was based in Mexico. There he feuded with a young man named Diablo (who later became the NWA North American champion) and worked on his in ring performance ability. Ray also picked up a side job in the CSW (Central States Wrestling) where he defeated future NWA Cruiserweight champion Drew Jacobs for the CSW CW title. Both companies soon folded and Ray found himself without a job. He bounced around and soon found himself in the NeWA flagship, the PNW (Pacific Northwest championship Wrestling) in mid 1999, where he quickly found himself engaged in a short feud with then NeWA World champion Mike Bell.
This short feud with Mike Bell managed to bring Ray into the spotlight, and he quickly captured the PNW Oregon State and Television titles. Ray dropped the PNW Oregon State title to future hall of famer Jake Rockwell and began to feud with Neal Zane for the crown jewel of the PNW, the Heavyweight title. At the same time, Ray became involved in a short feud with the then NWA Cruiserweight champion Silverstrike and then made his NeWA PPV debut at When Worlds Collide against Darnell Jenkins. That match ended with Ray winning the match by countout. Ray was pushed to the back of the line for NeWA title shots and he finally got NeWA gold when he beat King Neptune for the vacant CW title in the PNW in early 2000.
Ray then defended the title against several top stars and injured himself in a match in the HCWF against Brian Hale. Ray then disappeared for several months.
When Ray returned to the NeWA in late 2000, he had become a very dark character and was involved with Black Zach Andrews and Dark Tara. They quickly ran throughout the NeWA, causing a small amount of chaos. At this time, Ray also became the NeWA TV champion after besting Bryan Sensation, Holocaust, and Lifeless Joe in qualifying rounds for the TV title tourney. Malcolm Aboud and Ray squared off at NeWA PPV Lord of The Ring for the vacant TV title and Ray won in a spectacular match which saw the ring collapse after Malcolm and Ray came off the top rope during a super DDT from Ray.
It was also at this time that Ray became engaged in what some people consider his greatest feud, against OWC legend Kestral Falcos. Ray and Falcos had several matches, to include two OCW PPVs, and an NeWA PPV match. Ray had found his alter ego in Kes, and he ended up losing this feud, but cementing himself in history with the quality of matches the two engaged in.
Unfortunately for Ray, he also found himself homeless after being fired by the OWC for his actions against Falcos and Ray went to Mike Vincent again for a job. Mike allowed Ray to join the IWA, but he showed resentment for Ray's earlier career choices and stuck him against Jason Jousma at the lower end of the card. Jousma and Ray battled across Canada for several months and stole the show with their ability to work off of each other, both in, and out of the ring. The IWA closed in December of 2000, as Ray and Jousma concluded their feud, and Ray took several months off again.
Several months later, a young enigma named Ozmodious entered the Massachusetts Wrestling League, where he quickly shot up the rankings and became the first man from the MWL to hold NeWA singles gold after he defeated Benoit Dreygon for the CW title on June 3, 2001. Ray was also given a spot in the prestigious Lou Thesz tourney, where he defeated both Dreygon and Lance Panzer before losing to the eventual winner, Outkast. Ray bounced back from that loss and and then took on fellow MWL member, Calib Wallace. The two of them went back and forth for several weeks, but Ray dropped the title to Blade. Ray then went on to face another future hall of famer Michael Lennox and suffered a career ending injury after several shoulderbreakers and then a long time in the Cajun Crossface.
Ray has now retired from the ring, has opened a school and is also managing a BWA cruiserweight named Ronin.
Byron Tanis says: Okay, whatever, I'm not getting paid enough to talk about cruiserweights here. None of them matter. They didn't matter then, and they certainly don't matter now. Well except Ray Masters, he really turned things around for homosexuals in the NeWA. Now it's full of them.
Jon Says: Some of the most fun I have ever had in this game was not the winning and losing of the titles, it was the storylines that made it entertaining. If you are able to find a handler who can work with you and you with them, and make a feud something big, then you will find success. Remember that this is only a game, and everything else is secondary.

When most people reflect on Kid Cap they don't immediately think "Cruiserweight" the reason for that is simple, while he was small, he played the game larger then life by refusing to pigeonhole himself into the role of your typical cruiser. His run with the North American title is proof that you would be hard pressed to find a more entertaining and creative player.

First NeWA title reign: 06/24/1999 (Tag Title)

Tag Team Champions [3]
Cole started his wrestling career in the now-defunct Limestone City Wrestling promotion. After capturing the Heavyweight Title and winning the Tag Team Titles on four different occasions, Cole and the LCW were looking for new challenges. Limestone City and the NeWA inked a deal which would make LCW the Ontario region of the famed alliance.
Limestone City hit the radar with what many called a great upset when "The Gator" defeated the legendary Adam Fierce for the Canadian Heavyweight Championship. Cole would lose the title back to Fierce two months later but he finally made a name for himself. After the great reduction of regions went through and Limestone City parted ways with the NeWA, Cole decided to wrestle in his home state of Florida where he would meet up with a young rookie by the name of Chris Havok.
Chris Havok started his wrestling career in the indy promotions as part of the tag team known as Hell's Enforcers along with his brothers. Havok took the name as a tribute to his late brother. He has battled throughout the regions, winning titles and trying to carve a niche for himself in singles wrestling but it would be in the tag team world where he would leave his legacy as a man who left it all in the ring for a victory for his team. As a member of Hell's Enforcers or Violence, Incorporated, Havok proved to be the heart of the team, time and time again. As Scott Logan, he has tried his best in the business of wrestling promotions with his successful takeovers of the Massachusetts Wrestling League and currently, the Bayou Wrestling Association
"The Gator" and Havok joined forces in the CeWF/Florida region of the NWA after competing against each other one week earlier. They ended up winning the Florida Tag Team Titles and holding on to them for a record length of time only to vacate them upon winning the NWA World Tag Team Championship for the first time.
They finally retired from active competition after capturing the NWA World Tag Team Championship on three different occasions and leaving their mark on the sport as one of the most violent, hardcore teams ever to step between the ropes.
Cole went back to a successful law practice before becoming Vice-President of the Bayou Wrestling Association. Havok took over the leadership role as President of the Bayou Wrestling Association.
Violence, Inc. decided to step into the ring for one final chance at tag team glory for the prestigious Jim Crockett, Sr. Memorial Cup Tag Team Tournament. Battling all of the odds, they proved to be victorious and lay claim to the title of "Greatest Tag Team Ever"
The Boog-Man says:
Blue and Tim say: Blue and myself have truly enjoyed making the masses laugh with our adventures and mis-adventures. I think we tried to infuse the tag team scene with a team that just wanted to beat people up. Thanks to John McGraw for being the catalyst that created Violence, Inc. Thanks also to all of the teams during our era that made tag team competition really fun. The Crazies, The Black Dragons, Legion, The Texas Outlaws, and the list goes on.
One Last Thing. It would be good to see a resurgence of tag team wrestling. It's a major part of Tradition and everything that is the NeWA. Either build two characters and live their lives out or find a friend and come up with something but don't let the competiveness of tag team wrestling die because everyone wants that singles success. Tag Team Wrestling will be a lost art that way.
