Getting Noticed
Overview:
You know that you have talent and since you're reading this I know you have talent, but you just can't attract attention to yourself. This is a common problem when you first get into an E-Fed or get into a rut. Before I go any farther, you should know that there are good ways of attracting attention to yourself and there are bad ways. We'll go into the good ways first.
If you have gone through the lessons in this school, you know that angles, working well with others, and dedication will help you a great deal in E-Wrestling. Most E-Feds have one or two main angles and several little ones that they push on cards. The best way to get noticed is to work your way into angles.
Interference:
A face could do a run-in to save the day because this will not only get you over, but it will get you in the good graces of another for a potential feud or angle.
Heels however, don't always have to be the saviors. They have the option of helping any side that they choose.
Creating Interest:
If you can't get into an existing angle there is a simple solution... Create your own! In E-Wrestling the only limit is your imagination! When you're the best, everyone wants a piece of you. If you Role-Play better, win more matches, and draw enough heat, you will eventually get a title shot of some kind. When you get these shots win or lose, it's important that you continue to play the game strong showing the owner you’re dedicated to the character and the promotion. More often than not, handlers will quit throwing their hands up in the air out of frustration voicing displeasure with everyone from the owner to the other wrestlers. It doesn’t have to be like that if you have the patience to see beyond the trees.
Bad Heat:
As I said above, there are also bad ways of drawing heat. An E-Fed, had a guy called "Matt". He was a decent wrestler who presented excellent interviews but when it comes to his out of character behavior, he loved to get other handlers angry. Furthermore, he would create Role-Plays that were nothing but out of character insults to every guy in the promotion. His plan had worked and he was considered the most hated wrestler in the federation. Since he was hated, his character was given a title shot over more deserving handlers. Unfortunately for him, he lost because the other handlers really hated him in real life and had no intentions of playing the game with him as the world champion. Arrogance and insults can only get you so far in a game that’s theoretically based on a community atmosphere.
Again, this was the bad way to draw heat.
Conclusion:
In today's game handlers must respect other handlers who work just as hard and dedicate themselves to the both the promotion and their character. When someone takes the time to develop and work angles without complaining, they gain respect because everyone knows how hard it is to come out on the internet week after week, and spend about two hours plus caring about a character that only exits in cyberspace. If you want to get notice, have patience and wait for your window to open. If you find yourself frustrated, talk to the owner of the federation; a good one will listen.
