How to Create a Feud

Overview:
Success in eWrestling is directly correlated to your ability to feud with other members of your federation. If the other handlers avoid your character like the plague, it will be very difficult to draw heat/attention to him. “Ok, so how do I start a feud?” you may ask. There are four basic ways to make this happen.

OOC Area:
Send a message on the OOC board asking if anybody is interested. This message would basically consist of you explaining a little about your character, and what kind of character would be ideal for a feud. Your specifications may be very detailed, or they may be very general. I.e., “My character is British, and very anti-American. Are there any characters that are known for being patriotic, or anybody who could fill that role for a feud with my character?” (This would be a very detailed request, and you should always bare in mind that it may not suit any of the handlers, but it’s always worth a shot.) If nobody meets your ideal choice for a feud, or if you really don’t have any preferences, simply put it out there, as bluntly as possible; i.e., “My character is in between angles right now, I have nothing going on, and if anybody would like to feud with me, it’d be great to find someone to start some heat with.”

Instant Message:
If you already have a specific person in mind, or if, by taking advantage of step one, you FIND a specific person; instant messengers can be an invaluable tool in planning out a potential feud. Chatting in real time greatly increases two handlers ability to brain storm, and thus will allow for a great start to a feud.

Email
E-mail the person. Instant messenger is, and will always be the most interactive way to planning out the beginning of a feud, but if you find that your prospective rival does not have access to instant messengers, or that the two of you simply can not coordinate a time when you are both available to meet live, e-mail is the next best thing. Write the handler with any starting ideas/storylines you may have, and ask for a reply with his thoughts on your ideas, and any of his own. Two or three correspondences should be enough to have things ready to roll. Be sure and include your fed-head’s e-mail address in each letter if you want him/her to be aware of what the two of you are planning, so that he/she can put your ideas into action on the card.

Contact The Owner:
If you’ve left messages, instant messaged, and e-mailed every possible candidate to feud with you, and you still have not come up with any results- the logical next step would be to consult with the owner of the fed. All storylines and feuds must ultimately go through the front office anyway, so if you have trouble finding somebody to feud with, let the owner know of your request, the steps you have taken to make that request happen, and ask for any suggestions. Conclusion:
If after all this, you STILL haven’t found somebody to feud with, then you must be the only handler in the fed, because there’s no way you can use all four of these steps, and not come out of it with a fresh angle, a new rival, and one step closer to mastering the art of eWrestling!
