The Megafreak - (Inducted 1999)

From a Lost Island in the Pacific

On March 23, 1999 BACW was just starting out and was billed as an uncensored federation. With little or no regard for taste, religion, or sympathy, wrestlers from all around the world flocked to get a glimpse of its risky nature.

Within this flock of rookies, was a seasoned veteran who took the time out of his day to raise the bar in the ring. His name was Edgar Morbis and he controlled a man/monster named The Megafreak. The father of this damned freak of nature was a skinny deranged man who's ringmaster's outfit mimicked something out of a bizarre twilight zone novel. The dynamic was simply, Morbis was the brains, while his over 400 pound drone was the brawn. In the ring, there wasn't anyone who was even close to his strength. Outside the ring, his intellectual power overwhelmed. The Megafreak had little wrestling ability but his power was unmatched. Punches and kicks had little or no effect on this mammoth individual and at our very first pay per view entitled "The Grinder", he dominated the first blood battle royal. When it was all said and done, The Megafreak was crowned our first world heavyweight champion. After winning the title, Morbis was quick to take the claim of champion overshadowing the hard work of the child-like drone, but then again, we aren't really sure if the Megafreak was even aware of what was going on. Some think his only purpose in life was to protect his father figure. Get in Edgar's way, and you would face the wrath of his bastard child.

Although The Megafreak lost the title the following month in a historic “Burnt to a Crisp” match, it was the drama of that match which turned this independent federation into an over night success. But it wouldn't be until September 2, 1999 that Morbis and his Freak would taste the world title gold again. After ripping people up on the circuit like Darrel Besolve, Big Dawg, and the rest of the BACW roster, The Megafreak had finally defeated a red hot Michael “Snake Eyes” Cavenaugh for the world title ending Cavenaugh brief one month reign. Cavenaugh was devastated and as his troubles grew with Mr. Batee, The Megafreaks's time in the BACW was coming to an end too.

With tensions high in the air, Karl Fletcher would be the next person to unseat the Freak and by this time, Edgar Morbis was sidelined with a serious injury. Without someone to guide the Freak through the ranks of the ever growing BACW, The Megafreak disappeared without a trace. Some say, Mr. Batee is still in contact with this legendary monster and will one day bring him back to WeWA in an apocalyptic return that just may destroy either the Monster or Mr. Batee himself.

The Megafreak & Morbis were years ahead of their time but stayed in the BACW because they were needed. Once the promotion took off, it's funny how they both disappeared but as we sit here today thinking about how the Freak's legendary status came to pass, it was the wrestlers who truly made his performances spectacular. Morbis pulled together the federation like a magnet to steel and to this day, we all still feel a sense of his legacy lingering throughout our great halls. Cheers Freaky, one day will we meet again, but until then, we will honor your sacrifices here respecting the time spent in our ring.

HAVOK - (Inducted 1999)

Manager: Senior Cactus, Homeless Bob, Liz
From: Atlanta, Ga.

Weighing in at 298 pounds, this 6'7" hard-core nightmare was named HAVOK and there was a good reason why. He was one of the only superstars to dominate the ring with an extreme flare never again duplicated. In fact, Havok was the only major superstar to leave BACW without ever claiming the world heavyweight champion. Throughout his career, Havok’s feuding with Mr. Batee and stubborn way of life made him an outcast, someone who Batee just kept tabs on. One day Havok was talking to a cactus, the next he was bring homeless people into his interviews. Constantly breaking into Mr. Batee's home on a monthly basis, it was apparent the BACW couldn't control the hard-core nut.

Like The Megafreak, Havok won his world hard-core championship at The Grinder in 1999 and never looked back. From March 29, 1999 until July 1, 1999, Havok simply beat people up in the most violent fashion he could think of. Havok was the BACW's poster child and a symbol of hard-core wrestling. Combined with his Hannible Lector like thinking, the youngsters of the BACW were easy pickings for his sophisticated style of wrestling. Beating people to a pulp was his job, and while here, Havok claimed the names of Jeremy Knyte, JP Havic, Mike Johnson, Jack Kraven, and even Edgar Morbis. When people faced Havok, it was a blood bath that usually ended up with Havok getting the upper hand. Some even say it was the beating Havok gave Morbis that lead to the exit of the Megafreak.

Then July 1, 1999 the unthinkable happened. Mr. Batee, who was fed up with Havok's domination of the wrestling scene and constant abuse of the WeWA Executives, finally answered Havok's challenge for a match. Mr. Batee was retired for a long time, but couldn't take Havok's bad mouthing him any further. Havok was delighted but something happened during the week leading up to that match that would change the BACW as a whole for a very long time. Mr. Batee took the life, and steam from Havok's sails defeating him clean 123. Havok's cold heart was torn out and his motivation to compete in the BACW nullified. Mr. Batee had crushed Havok's spirit grinding his pride into the mat with a dazzling performance showing the rest of the federation that the owner was not just an owner, but very capable of wrestling too. When the battle was over, it was clear to everyone. Mr. Batee, was a better wrestler, and Havok would have to live with that for the rest of his life.

In a series of back room arguments, Havok eventually left the BACW disgruntled and bitter. Havok left, but when he did, the hard-core lunatic took a small piece of the BACW's heart with him. Mr. Batee was quick to think about the other wrestlers in his arsenal and digging into his bag of talent, Michael “Snake Eyes” Cavenaugh was reborn.

Havok was entered into the BACW of his own free will and when you looked through all the bullshit and smoke, it was his hard work and unique interviews that brought credibility to the BACW giving the younger rookies a champion to be proud of. Havok was a leader who wrestled on his own terms and because of this, the executives here in WeWA admired his will to win. Havok never won another title in BACW, but to hold a belt for four months without a loss is something only a few wrestlers can be proud of. Havok did return to WeWA for a brief stint but left within a month after a series of losses and lack luster performances. BACW had grown up and Havok wasn’t prepared. Havok, we dedicated this space for you because you simply deserve it!

Michael “Snake Eyes” Cavenaugh - (Inducted 2000)

Baltimore, MD by way of New York, NY

For six years, one man personified this federation. Whether the company was going by Bad Ass Championship Wrestling or the World eWrestling Alliance, one man remained a steady influence, answering the call time after time.

Cavenaugh began his career in Bad Ass Championship Wrestling as a member of the low-level group the Terrorists. The sole bright spot in a lackluster group, Snake Eyes managed to make the Terrorists a legitimate force. With their help, Cavenaugh even managed to hand the legendary Megafreak a loss, capturing the Fuck the Feds title in only his third match. This earned him a shot at the Heavyweight Championship on his first BACW pay-per-view appearance, Massacre 'n' MAYhem 1999. With the title in his grasp, Cavenaugh took a moment to celebrate, allowing his opponents allies to interrupt and cost him the title.

Snake Eyes lost his cool following that match, leading to a suspension, the first of many. After an involuntary vacation, Cavenaugh returned with a vengeance, winning the Hardcore Championship in just a few weeks. Using both his knack for extreme wrestling and his unique presence, Cavenaugh formed a tenuous alliance with batee that allowed him to become the NeWA World Hardcore Champion, representing BACW on a national level.

This title reign was short, and many people began to label Snake Eyes as a man who could not handle big-time pressure. These feelings would change when Cavenaugh overcame long odds to defeat his arch-nemesis, Darrel Besolve, to capture the BACW Heavyweight Championship for the first time on August 12, 1999. This title reign would last for twenty-one days, Cavenaugh's longest title reign at the time, but still a short amount of time.

There was another unpleasant incident that lead to another suspension, while many still felt that Michael Cavenaugh could not be trusted to carry a federation. After shocking the federation by aligning with Jack Kraven to double-cross batee, Cavenaugh returned to his hardcore roots, capturing the newly-rechristened BACW World Hardcore Championship on October 7, 1999. Cavenaugh and Kraven, calling themselves "The Black Knights" captured the BACW World Tag Team Championships on October 28, 1999, as Cavenaugh slowly began to rebuild his image.

On November 25, 1999, Cavenaugh unified the BACW World Hardcore Championship with the BACW Arizona State Championship on November 25, 1999. It would be a bright spot directly before another dark period, as Cavenaugh found himself suspended for the third time on December 2, 1999 for undisclosed reasons.

With the suspension over, Cavenaugh came back, still crawling his way up the ladder. In short order, he captured the newly formed WeWA's European Heavyweight Championship, International Heavyweight Championship, and World Heavyweight Championship. At this point, to allow his body to heal after years on the road, Mister batee offered Cavenaugh a chance to become a member of the front office. Snake Eyes jumped at the chance, retiring on April 13, 2000.

The federation began to flounder, and batee realized that, although he was not always the champion, having Cavenaugh chasing the champions insured that they went the extra mile. For this reason, on April 27, Mister batee authorized Cavenaugh's return to the ring, and allowed him to enter into a World Championship match, which he won.

It is important to remember that the WeWA of the day was a very unique environment, with fifty two televised shows a week, with the World title on the line a minimum of three times a month. Prior to this reign, only one man had entered a pay-per-view World Champion and left with the title. For three months, a record-setting ninety-one days, Michael "Snake Eyes" Cavenaugh reigned the federation with an iron fist, demanding the attention and respect of the entire wrestling world, defending his title eleven times in thirteen weeks. With Cavenaugh as the focal point, the WeWA began to attract the best talent in the world, including future Hall of Fame members Obsidian and Eddy Outlaw.

After that title reign, Cavenaugh continued to be the premiere name the federation had to offer. Even when his matches were not for the World Championship, they were the main event. Whatever title Cavenaugh held immediately became the most hotly contested title in the federation. And he held all of them- literally. When he left, Michael "Snake Eyes" title had held every title the federation had to offer.

One thing that had eluded Cavenaugh was the Grinder. Even as a dominant wrestler, even as the biggest and baddest dog in the park, Cavenaugh had not managed to win the granddaddy of them all. He had finished second, third, second, and second in his four attempts. With all the gold, and with all the accolades, including more Knyte Awards than anyone else in BACW/WeWA history, Cavenaugh was possessed with winning the Grinder.

In 2004, Cavenaugh went into the Grinder pay-per-view with the World Championship. After wrestling twice on the undercard, Cavenaugh entered the steel cage and defeated Simon King, winning his first Grinder. That would have been a fitting place to end his career.

Later that summer, leaving an event, Cavenaugh was nearly killed in a car accident. In fact, he did die for eight seconds. Following the accident, doctors told him he would never use his right arm again. For months, Cavenaugh trained like a madman. He eventually made his way back to the ring, although he was considered a shell of himself.

For months, Cavenaugh pushed himself to the limits of human beings. Following several small title wins, Cavenaugh got a shot at the World Championship, which he won for a record eleventh time. As the Grinder rolled around again, Cavenaugh seemed to be a long shot to repeat.

Entering first, Cavenaugh battled in the steel cage for over an hour and a half, eventually eliminating the final man and raising his hand in victory as only the second dual Grinder winner. From the brink of death, career over, to winning the Grinder in a testament to amazing conditioning.

For six years, Michael "Snake Eyes" Cavenaugh strolled the ring of BACW/the WeWA as a tyrant, having memorable matches and feuds with every major star that has entered the federation: Darrel Besolve, Alastor Stonewall, Stevey Sinister, Jack Kraven, David "Obsidian" Vance, Lee Riel, Ric Righteous, and others that have become forgotten. He has changed the way the company performs more than once. Even though he is no longer with us, Cavenaugh has left his imprint on everything that this company does.

"Big Daddy" Jack Kraven (Inducted 2000)

Detroit, Michigan

In March of 1999, Bad Ass Championship Wrestling opened it's doors. That very first week, a young man named Jack Kraven arrived, looking to make his fortune. And what a fortune it would be.

With two months of entering BACW, Jack Kraven won the Television Championship for the first of five times. As a member of the infamous Terrorist group, Jack Kraven was one of the few bright spots in a rather dismal faction. He would continue to toil in the mid-card, winning the Television Championship on a regular basis, until he had an idea that would turn BACW on it's head.

Introducing his "brother," Isaac Kraven, Jack won the Tag Team Championship for the first time. Jack and his masked "brother" would hold the tag titles for a full month, an eternity at the time. Then, in a move that shook the federation to it's core, Isaac Kraven removed his mask, showing himself to be none other than Michael "Snake Eyes" Cavenaugh. Thus were born the Black Knights, the single most dominant stable in BACW history.

Jack Kraven would win singles titles regularly, as well as holding the Tag titles several more times. However, he would often be overshadowed by his partner and friend, Snake Eyes. Jack would win the International Championship, only to watch Snake Eyes win the World Championship. Jack would win the European Championship, the Arizona State Championship, and the Hardcore Championship, every title except the World Championship. Through it all, Jack remained a loyal friend and partner, assisting Snake Eyes in his own meteoric rise.

That's not to say Jack did not receive his own chances to win the World Championship- he was given a chance to win the big one time and again, always coming up short. Finally, in what was billed as his "final" chance, Jack Kraven won the World Championship in a hard fought battle with Eddy Outlaw. After two full years of chasing, Jack Kraven had finally caught his dream.

The sweet taste of victory would sour quickly, as Jack lost the title in his first defense. He would disappear from BACW for several months, the first time in two years he had missed more than a single show.

Upon his return, Jack continued his winning ways, capturing the International Championship a few more times, bringing his record to five International Championship reigns. He would also rack up victories over the biggest names in the business: Snake Eyes, Eddy Outlaw, Obsidian, Mike Bell, Darrel Besolve, Ric Righteous, and countless others fell before Kraven's might.

For the next several years, Jack would float in and out the BACW, always making an impact upon arrival and leaving a hole upon exit, but never again managing to capture a World Championship. Through it all, he exemplified hard work and dedication to craft.

Obsidian - (Inducted 2001)

Mananger: None
From: Denver, CO.

Obsidian. Obey. Obi. David Vance. The Mile HIGH Monster. And the longest reigning champion in the our federations history at the time. Pretty much this means Obsidian was the most consistent wrestler to hit the WeWA circuit bar none! His continued dedication even after he won the BACW World title has been unprecedented and for this, the executive committee takes off their hats to applaud.

Obsidian came into the WeWA in August of 2000. A friend of the Canadian Mega GOD "Absolute" Lee Riel, Obsidian was slow to start not really getting the attention of anyone right away. Seems Obey wasn't excited about the federation because when he looked at the whole picture, the competition looked so damn tough. In the back, he saw men like Jack Kraven, Snake Eyes, Lee Riel, Eddy Outlaw, The Detroit Gutta Punks, PAIN, and whole host of talent just itching to cut into some young meat. Granted Obsidian wasn't a push over but once intimidated by the WeWA line up, it's hard to start off fits flying.

So Obey started off losing to people like Red Falcon, and Spaz Forte. Shit, Obsidian had the tools but wasn't plugging in the program. Until one day something very special happened. Obsidian started to do interviews, and started to workout in mass form. His words were clever but his message seemed crude. Funny thing was, if you had some education you could read between his blurred lines and damn, his stuff was GREAT. From nothing to WHAM! Obsidian suddenly became a household name capturing a few titles and the eye of the fans. But please understand something about Obey, he never asked to be a fan favorite, and never wanted to be the apple of anyone's eyes. This was Mr. Batee's and the fans choice.

Obsidian was at a cross road in his career but you could tell from his performances the man was on verge of breaking through. He changed his finisher to a T3 Termination, got into bed with Lee Riel a former friend, and coupled his strength with the amazing tag team called the Detroit Gutta Punks. Mr. Batee was impressed but needed Obsidian to embrace the fans in order to push him into the lime light. After all, Cavenaugh was a "bad guy" and so was Eddy Outlaw. Odd in the sense of everything Obsidian stood for, he took the roll and although he hated everyone deep down inside, he did it for his own selfish purposes. Obey wanted to win at any cost!

Now Obey was ok with being a face but the idea of milk and cookies practically made him puke. So he got into bed with his sister, literally. Started hanging out in Goth Clubs, and pretty much began making people bleed in an assault that lasted well into the year 2000. On occasion he has pissed all over people, wore woman's clothing, and overall, has done everything to shake to the politically correct opinions of most every superstar on the active roster.

On five separate occasions Obsidian has held the world title. Once when he defeated Eddy Outlaw on 4/12/01 during Tidal Wave. And then again on April 24, 2001 against the same man; Eddy Outlaw. He claimed another reign by defeated Cavenaugh in The Grinder, and again later that year. You can say it was Obsidian who threw a monkey wrench into all of Eddy's plans, but then again, Ric Righteous has also given the mile high monster the same problems too.

We feel Obsidian was chosen for the Hall of Fame by his peers because the man flat out made a commitment and stuck to it. When you face him, Obey gives you 110% challenging all his opponents to listen to his words or suffer defeat. This promotion believes this is the trait that all hall of famers had at one time or another. Perhaps this is the ingredient to becoming Simply the Best? Maybe this is what you need to "Enjoy the Brutality."

Out of all the talent flowing through out doors, Obsidian has claimed this honor because his fellow wrestlers thought he was the only person who deserved it in 2001. To beat him, you had to have more heart than him. Obviously this wasn't the case.
